About Us

FBI Citizens Academy

One method to engage the community pioneered by the FBI and adopted by law enforcement agencies around the country is called the Citizens Academy. Held once a year in Houston, the Citizens Academy gives community leaders, business professionals, religious leaders, and other citizens an inside look at the FBI and its operations. The program is seven weeks, with mandatory attendance one night per week for three hours. Participants meet the men and women of the FBI, gain an appreciation for the job they do, and often become lifelong friends of the Bureau. They are also invited to attend a session at the FBI firearms range. If you wish to be considered for this program, please contact the FBI at outreach.houston@ic.fbi.gov.

FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association

After completing the Citizens Academy program, graduates are members of the FBI Houston Citizens Academy Alumni Association. The association is active year-round in speaker presentations, special events, and supporting the FBI’s outreach mission in the community.  Members are encouraged to become premier and lifetime members.
